Camogie Club AGM 2018

Recently Clontibret Camogie Club held a very productive AGM. Events of 2017 were recalled, the highlights of which included winning the Senior Championship and the Senior League; winning the U-12 Armagh League; participating in Féile na nGael in Wexford; securing sponsorship for new kit bags and jerseys; hosting very successful fundraisers; actively contributing to county Minor, U-16 and U-14 teams; holding a hugely enjoyable Presentation Awards night. Ellanna Fitzpatrick, Rebecca Hamill, Émer McGlone, Jennifer Duffy and Aisling McElvaney were among those congratulated on outstanding, individual achievements as was Nicola Morgan who scooped the much-coveted ‘Senior Player of the Year 2017’ award.
The subject of Child Safeguarding was discussed at length and great credit must go to the outgoing Children’s Officer, Olivia Kennedy-Moran, for the meticulous and outstanding work she did during the past 2 years. All parents, officers, managers and coaches were reminded of the legislative requirement to ensure they are Garda vetted and have completed a Monaghan GAA Child Safeguarding course; Monaghan Sports Partnership Child Safeguarding course or the Túsla Child Safeguarding e-learning course.
Gratitude was expressed to the outgoing Executive – Mary, Denise, Aideen, Marie, Catherine, Aisling, Olivia – for their trojan work during a very, very busy year; the many parents who supported the various teams and contributed positively in other ways to the running of the club; Noel Mullaney, our senior referee; managers and coaches: Ned, Geraldine, Paul, Marie, Aisling, Michelle; players at every level who made many sacrifices to attend training and matches; Janet, who took many great photos throughout the year; the Committee of Clontibret O Neill’s GAA club, in particular Thomas Greenan, for use of pitches and other facilities; Clontibret Community Centre committee for use of the Community Centre on many occasions and in particular the Social Club for their generous donation; Marty Mone, P + J Fuels and Inspire Hair and Beauty for sponsorship of kit bags and jerseys; many local businesses and others who made financial contributions to the club throughout 2017 and all those who attended County Board meetings on behalf of the club.
