Club Notes – 9 May 2019

Shoe City Senior League
We had a comfortable win in the last five point game of the current series when we had Ballybay as visitors at O’Neill Park on Wednesday night last. Both teams sportingly opted to give their county players a rest so they showed a lot of changes from recent outings. The next phase of the league consists of nine games with county players officially absent and we take this opportunity to wish Conor McManus, Vinny Corey, Dessie Mone and Conor Boyle all the very best, along with their team mates as they embark on what hopefully will be a long and fruitful campaign with Monaghan. The first of these two point games is away to Latton on Sunday 12th May at 2pm followed by a visit to Blayney on Friday 24th May at 8pm.

Platinum Tanks Reserve League and Championship
In the rescheduled O’Duffy Cup match with Scotstown our B team made a tame exit from the championship on Friday night while on Sunday the RFL Division 3 side had a one sided win over neighbours Tyholland. Next up for the B team is a RFL D1 fixture in Scotstown next Wednesday 15th may at 7.45pm while in RFLD3 we visit Killeevan on 29th May.

The Big Hello
The Family Fun day organised in conjunction with the Clontibret Development Association was a big success last Sunday with a busy and enjoyable evening had by all. These events don’t just happen and The Big Thank You is due to the small but dedicated band of workers who helped get it off the ground at such short notice and successfully managed the various proceedings throughout the evening.
