Championship Celebration and Presentation

The presentation of championship medals will be held at a celebratory dinner in the Four Seasons Hotel on New Year’s Eve, 31st December. This will be a unique event for our club with the emphasis on celebrating and honouring the group of players and managers who helped bring back the Mick Duffy Cup after a four year absence. Player of the Year awards at Senior (Killian Lavelle), Reserve (Cormac Boyle) and Young Player (Eli Ward) level will be presented. Speechifying will be at a minimum with all wrapped up in time to welcome in the New Year. This is a big night for club and family so come along to celebrate with them and ring in the New Year. Tickets will be available this weekend at the Clubrooms, at Braeside Stores or from any club official.

County Awards

Congratulations to all who were recognised by the announcement of recent county board awards. First up, well done to Vice Chairman, Colm Gormley, who was honoured with a Volunteer Recognition award at a function in the Four Seasons last week. Well-deserved Colm. Then at County convention Conor Boyle was announced as Senior Player of the Year, and nine of our players were named on the Senior Championship team of the Year, Darren McDonnell, Conor Boyle, Dessie Mone, Colum Greenan, Francis Hughes, Killian Lavelle, Michael P O’Dowd, Brian Greenan and Conor McManus. Well done to all of the above and indeed there could have been more. Special mention to Aisling McElvaney who was named Camogie Player of the Year.

Clontibret Annual Gold Rush

Takes place this year on Sunday 29th December @ 11am. This fun 6k run / walk is a great family event with an opportunity to catch up with family and friends over refreshments in the Community Centre afterwards. All donations on the day are for ‘A Challenge for Elaine’. Please come out and support this very worthy cause.
