Club Notes – 19 March 2020

Virus Closedown

GAA activity has ceased at all levels in response to the spread of Covid 19. The Social Club is closed and while the walking track remains open patrons are reminded to act responsibly and follow the guidelines issued by HSE. All at home should also be following the strict guidelines issued at national level so as not to put ourselves, family or friends at risk. We all need to keep safe in the hope that we get back to normal activity as soon as possible.

Registration

Registration is now due and all players and members must renew their club membership to be registered for the coming year. Full membership is €75 (students €50), while full contributors to Clontibret our Future Fund are registered for free. Membership must be paid by 31st March to have full voting rights at AGM.

Continued Development at O’Neill Park

A lot of recent work has been done in recent weeks and is on-going to bring our new pitch and car park into commission. The foundations are in for the goal posts and ball stops and these along with perimeter fencing and dug outs will be completed in the coming weeks, weather permitting. The car park has been levelled, piers built and the widened approach road and entrances with footpath and lighting have been surfaced. In addition a biodiversity plan has been completed involving the planting of hedging, shrubs and trees which as well as promoting species diversity will enhance the ambienceof the grounds for walkers and visitors alike. A spectator bank has also been created between the two pitches and this along with the car park will be surfaced in the coming weeks as well.

Thanks to the existing members of Clontibret Our Future we have been able to get this far and now need your continued support and those of new members to get this phase completed and paid for

When your promoter calls (which may now be over the phone ) please be as generous as you can and as you have been in the past to continue your financial support to get the job finished.
