Continue to be Vigilant

As Covid 19 restrictions continue into the third month we hope that all our members are continuing to keep safe while at the same time remaining as active as possible. This is a difficult time for people of all ages and as the weeks pass and the peak of the virus attack appears to be easing there is a danger we become complacent. This is particularly important in relation to our facilities at O’Neill Park which remain CLOSED for ALL activities until further official notice is received. During the closedown all insurance cover has been suspended so nobody should take it upon themselves to go for a run or kick-about at the grounds and to be fair to all this applies across the board irrespective of age.  The helpdesk set up by Monaghan County Council still exists to respond to the needs of those who feel vulnerable as a result. It can be contacted anytime at 1800 804 158 with a team of local volunteers in place to respond to your requirements. Feel free to call at any time for any type of practical assistance or just a reassuring chat. But remember our facilities at O’Neill Park remain closed for all activities until further notice, this is not how we would like it to be, but unfortunately we have no choice it the matter at this time.

Free Frozen Prepared Meals

During the current Covid-19 crisis, Kerry Foods in Carrickmacross in conjunction with Monaghan GAA is offering to supply free Frozen Ready Meals to people of the county who may be in need of assistance. If interested please contact Club Chairman Thomas in confidence on 086 7737776 or Secretary, Frank 0863164178.

Good to Talk

Monaghan GAA in conjunction with Monaghan Age Friendly Programme has launched a Good to Talk Initiative whereby you can nominate an elderly relative or friend who would be cheered up by a phone call from a member of the Monaghan senior football panel. From the initial reports, of the initiative,so far, it seems to be going very well and fair play to the players and management for engaging with it so whole heartedly. If you want to set it up for someone, contact assistant county PRO, Mary, at 087 6887332 or pro.corduff.monaghan @gaa.ie to set the process in motion.
